Everyone has a story to tell, and the makers of Streit’s matzos want to hear yours. The legendary Streit’s matzo factory, which has been operating in the same building for more than 70 years, is gearing up to leave Manhattan’s Lower East Side. In anticipation of the move, the matzo-maker is making a documentary to tell its story — and the stories of its customers. People of all ages are invited to the factory to share their favorite memories of Streit’s and of life on the Lower East Side. The interviews will take place on April 6 and 13, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment, interested participants should call 917-968-5505 or send an e-mail to streitsproject@yahoo.com.
