Shalit’s Abductor Will Be Freed in Swap
Hamas has begun releasing the names of Palestinian prisoners due to be released as part of the Gilad Shalit swap deal on Thursday, a list which includes some top Hamas officials.
Most prominent on the list is Yehia Sanwar, one of Shalit’s abductor’s, and the brother of whom is considered to be one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing.
Another name on the list is Zahar Jabareen, one of the founding figures in Hamas’ military wing in the West Bank. Nail Barghouti, the most veteran among Palestinian prisoners, is also due to be released, after spending the last 34 years in Israeli jails.
The list also specifies the names of the six Israeli Arab prisoners due to be released, as well as terrorists who participated in the abduction of border patrolman Nissim Toledano.
