Heavy Rocket Barrage Hits Southern Israel
Gaza militants fired a fresh barrage of rockets on Monday morning toward the southern Israeli cities of Ashdod and Be’er Sheva, after an overnight IDF strike in Gaza that killed two Islamic Jihad militants and one Palestinian child, and wounded 38 Palestinians, including several children.
Most of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile system, or exploded in open areas. One rocket fell in Eshkol Regional Council, and caused minor damage to a building.
The IAF also killed another Palestinian militant who was launching a rocket toward Israel.
The Home Front Command decided to once more cancel classes in most of the towns near Gaza.
On Sunday, residents of southern Israel suffered a day under siege as Palestinians in the Gaza fired about 50 more rockets at the Negev.
