French Family Attacked in Parking Spot Dispute

French police have arrested two men accused of assaulting members of a Jewish family in the family’s home in Nice in a dispute over a parking space.

The men tried to break into the family’s apartment in the southern French city on Oct. 15 after the family had the men’s car towed away from a parking spot reserved for the family on account of their disabled son, according to SPCJ, the security unit of France’s Jewish communities.

The two men were part of a group of four, and were “the most violent of the group,” a report by SPCJ said. They tried to choke the father and punched him in the face and threatened to kill the family and hurled anti-Semitic insults at them.

“You are only good for killing Palestinian children,” one of the men reportedly shouted. The family was also called “dirty Jews.”

Before police came to arrest them, the two men shoved the family’s daughter. They promised to return the next day to kill the family.
