Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, discussed Bloomberg’s efforts to push for additional gun-control regulations in the wake of the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., a City Hall source told the New York Post.

Giffords, the only Jewish woman ever elected to statewide office in Arizona, and Kelly arrived and left without fanfare for the late-afternoon session at City Hall and left without speaking with reporters.

Giffords was shot in the head on Jan. 8, 2011, by gunman Jared Lee Loughner. He shot 18 people, six fatally, as Giffords met constituents outside a Tucson supermarket.
