London Family Robbed of $30K in Precious Judaica

Unidentified burglars stole approximately $30,000 worth of Judaica artifacts from a Jewish family in London.

The break-in occurred last week at the home of the Palmer family in Edgware, north London. The burglars got away with menorahs, a Seder plate and silver cups, among other items, which they stole at night while four family members were asleep, The Jewish Chronicle reported.

Howard Palmer, father of five, said that the items were “totally irreplaceable.” In addition to the Judaica, an iPod and computer also were stolen. Hackney police confirmed that entry was gained through a patio door. The door had been locked but was taken off its runner.

Palmer said the burglary had been very distressing for him, his wife, and two of his five children who were at home at the time.

He said: “We are finding it difficult to sleep. It has got to the point where it’s hard to leave the house.”
