Sheena Wright was appointed the first female president and CEO of United Way of New York City in October 2012. Before joining United Way of New York City, Wright served for a decade as the president and CEO of the Abyssinian Development Corporation, an economic and community development organization in Manhattan's Harlem neighborhood, where she currently lives. A graduate of Columbia Law School, Wright has worked for law firms and as the general counsel and executive vice president of business development for Crave Technologies. She is a member of the board of trustees of the Vera Institute for Justice and the New York City Regional Economic Development Council. United Way of New York City provided Wright's salary after the Salary Survey was published. Previously the Forward listed her predecessor Gordon Campbell's salary of $521,336.
