Albuquerque Jewish Deli Backed by Vigil After Anti-Semitic Attacks

A vigil was held to show solidarity with a New Mexico deli that has been targeted by anti-Semitic messages.

The Thursday night vigil took place outside Albuquerque’s Nosh deli, which has had mailing labels scrawled with anti- Semitic messages left on its front door in two separate incidents.

The vigil drew more than 100 people, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

The first messages were left last month, when U.S. Postal Service mailing labels addressed to “The kikes who gave me a black eye” and “The kikes who should die” were affixed to the deli’s front door.

The incident prompted the state chapter of the Anti-Defamation League to issue a security advisory to all the state’s Jewish organizations.

This past weekend, more mailing labels with anti-Semitic messages were found on the deli, and other scrawled labels were left on nearby utility poles and parking pay stations.

The FBI is assessing the incidents, KOB Eyewitness News 4 reported.

In December the deli had a window smashed and its cash box stolen.
