Arizona Fraternity Punished for Alpha Epsilon Pi Attack

A fraternity at the University of Arizona is on an interim suspension after allegedly attacking members of a Jewish fraternity.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity is accused of assault and discrimination for attacking members of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, a Jewish fraternity, on Friday night.

About 15 members of the SAE fraternity forced they way into the apartment of a member of AEPi, shouting “discriminatory comments” at the students and physically assaulting them, according to the Dean of Students Office.

The president of the University of Arizona AEPi chapter said it was not the first time they have been victims of an attack, KVOA News in Tucson reported.

The members of the suspended fraternity have been prohibited from having any contact with members of AEPi.

Police are not investigating the incident as a hate crime, according to Tuscon News Now.
