A Gift With Red String Attached

In what The Jerusalem Post called “an unlikely meeting of the minds,” Israeli Vice Premier Shimon Peres met up with the actor and Kabbalah follower Ashton Kutcher while the two happened to be in Berlin earlier this month — Kutcher, to promote his latest film, “The Guardian,” and Peres, on state business.

When the “Punk’d” star got word that the statesman was in town, he and Kevin Costner, Kutcher’s co-star in the new film, arranged an impromptu get-together in their hotel. Peres spoke to the two about Israeli history, and as a thank you, Kutcher presented him with his personal copy of the Zohar.
