The GOP’s Antiwar Sleeper Candidate

So far conventional wisdom says the suspense in the Democratic primaries will be over whom emerges as the antiwar challenger to Hillary Clinton, while in the GOP race the only mystery is if John McCain, Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney ends up being President Bush’s political heir. But as Chuck Hagel sounds more and more like a candidate (check out his recent showdown with fellow Vietnam vet McCain), perhaps the real question is whether GOP primary voters would end up going with an antiwar conservative instead of the trio of Bush wannabes.

The Hill has a profile today on the Nebraska senator and former governor.
