With the country riveted by this morning’s Senate testimony by former FBI director James Comey, one Washington rabbi has a front row seat.
Politico writer Jake Sherman tweeted this morning that Rabbi Shmuel Herzfeld of Ohev Shalom - The National Synagogue had a seat next to former superstar U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
Seated next to Preet Bharara: Rabbi Shmuel Herzfeld, the head of Ohev Shalom, the orthodox synagogue on 16th St. Why? No idea!— Jake Sherman (@JakeSherman) June 8, 2017
Herzfeld has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump. He called Trump “wicked” at the AIPAC conference last year.
It’s not clear why Herzfeld is at the hearing, or how he got such good seats. Bharara’s seat was reportedly reserved by Senator Chuck Schumer.
