Sekulow Hits Cable News Circuit Hard For Trump

Jay Sekulow, the Jewish-born lawyer who has spent his career advocating for the Christian right and recently joined President Trump’s legal defense team, hit the cable news circuit hard on Sunday.

On Fox News, on MSNBC, on CNN, and on CBS, Sekulow stumped for the Trump defense campaign, claiming that Trump was not under investigation and providing “constitutional legal theories” for Trump’s behavior.

Sekulow got in a heated exchange with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” Sekulow happened to let slip that Trump is under investigation, and Wallace pounced.

“He takes the action that they also, by the way, recommended. And now he’s being investigated by the Department of Justice,” Sekulow told Wallace.

“You’ve now said that he’s being investigated,” Wallace replied.

“No, Chris. Let me be crystal clear so you completely understand: We have not received nor are we aware of any investigation of the president of the United States,” Sekulow said.

“Sir, you’ve just said two times that he’s being investigated,” Wallace said.
