Neo-Nazi Website Cheers (But Also Mocks) Yair Netanyahu For Ant-Semitic Meme
The neo-Nazi Daily Stormer website, which praised Yair Netanyahu as a “total bro” after he posted an anti-Semitic meme over the weekend now features the prime minister’s son in celebratory — but also mocking — banner across its homepage.
The banner says that the Daily Stormer is now “The World’s #1 Yair Netanyahu fansite.” The doctored image features Netanyahu wearing sunglasses and smoking what looks like marijuana. An image of the rapper Snoop Dogg is to the left. The backdrop shows Israel’s separation wall and a West Bank settlement. To the right is a sniper gun aimed at a hook-nosed anti-Semitic meme known as “the happy merchant.”
The website’s editor Andrew Anglin is known for his elaborate trolling and white supremacist-styled humor. His website — dubbed the country’s “top hate site” by the Southern Poverty Law Center — features sections ridiculing blacks, Jews and other minorities.
Anglin’s banner image changes frequently and has previously appeared to praise (but also mock) Jews. Anglin also takes aim at anyone he views to be antagonistic to his white nationalist goals or President Trump, who the site has praised for months.

In this age of misinformation, our work is needed like never before. We report on the news that matters most to American Jews, driven by truth, not ideology.
At a time when newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall. That means for the first time in our 126-year history, Forward journalism is free to everyone, everywhere. With an ongoing war, rising antisemitism, and a flood of disinformation that may affect the upcoming election, we believe that free and open access to Jewish journalism is imperative.
Readers like you make it all possible. Right now, we’re in the middle of our Passover Pledge Drive and we need 500 people to step up and make a gift to sustain our trustworthy, independent journalism.
Make a gift of any size and become a Forward member today. You’ll support our mission to tell the American Jewish story fully and fairly.
