Democrats Open Probe Into Jared Kushner’s Emails

Democrats in Congress are launching an investigation into Jared Kushner’s reported use of a private email address for government business.

Elijah Cummings of Maryland sent a letter to Kushner on Monday, warning the presidential son-in-law and adviser to preserve all his personal emails. Cummings suggested he will eventually demand all the correspondence, Politico reported.

Politico reported Sunday that Kushner used personal email to communicate with top White House officials in early 2017.

Kushner confirmed the report through his attorney, but downplayed the significance of the messages, saying they were mostly forwarded articles and numbered less than 100 through August.

But Democrats smell a rat, especially since Republicans skewered Hillary Clinton over her use of a personal email account and her alleged mishandling of sensitive information.

The new unwanted spotlight on Kushner could escalate his political troubles related to the Russia election collusion scandal.
