Firebombs Tossed at Africans’ Homes in Tel Aviv

Three Molotov cocktails were thrown early Friday morning toward the homes of refugees from Eritrea and Sudan in the Shapira neighborhood of southern Tel Aviv.

No one was injured in the incidents.

Police have opened an investigation into the matter. Investigators are looking into whether the Molotov cocktails were thrown by neighborhood residents or outsiders in an attempt to get migrant workers to leave the neighborhood.

The first report of a Molotov cocktail thrown at a residence was received by police at 1 a.m. Light damage was caused to an exterior wall of the building.

While police and fire services were on their way to the scene, reports were received of two similar incidents nearby.
