Ed Koch Hospitalized With Fluid in Lungs
Former New York Mayor Ed Koch was reportedly hospitalized late Saturday night, and tests showed that he had fluid in his lungs, according to a spokesman.
Koch, 88, has now been hospitalized three times with various ailments.
Koch, who served three terms, was suffering from swollen ankles and did not feel well Saturday afternoon, the New York Times reported.
Koch was admitted to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia hospital about 10 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for the hospital.
George Arzt, a friend and spokesman, quoted Koch as saying he wasn’t taking the latest health woes too seriously.
“It’s not death dealing,” Koch said, according to Arzt. “I could die but not from this.”
