Violent Brawl at Kosher Slaughterhouse Leaves Man Hospitalized, Another in Jail
Abdikani Hassan, 29, a worker at Agri Star kosher slaughterhouse, was reportedly stabbed by another worker John Herrera, 23, during a brawl last night that involved 15 people.
The stabbing occurred inside the refrigerator of Agri Star — the kosher slaughterhouse and meat processing plant that formerly housed Agriprocessors, which went into bankruptcy after a massive immigration raid in May 2008, that resulted in the 27-year prison sentence of its disgraced CEO, Sholom Rubashkin.
According a local news site the Postville Police arrested Herrera and charged him with intentional injury. Hassan was airlifted from Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Waukon to Gunderson Clinic in La Crosse, Wisconsin. His condition is currently unknown.
