James Franco Dishes on His Love

We can all feel better now that James Franco has set the record straight about who he is actually dating — or not dating. The gossip rags were reporting that Ashley Benson dumped Ryan Good (Justin Bieber’s BFF) to go out with the much older Franco. Franco cleared things up for us in a HuffPo blog post.

They must be getting very serious. Jason Segel and girlfriend Michelle Williams have reportedly bought a home together in Brooklyn, a loft in a converted warehouse overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The couple will be moving in with Williams’ 7-year-old daughter Matilda, whose father is the late Heath Ledger.

In Jewish celeb parent updates we have: Sarah Jessica Parker taking a break from campaigning for President Obama in Cincinnati to buy some jewelry for her twin daughters; Rachel Zoe gushing about how cute and bilingual her toddler son Skyler is; Tori Spelling taking her kids to the pumpkin patch; Sarah Michelle Gellar rocking an unbelievably svelte post-partum body; and Selma Blair snuggling with her little Arthur.

Julianna Margulies was sitting pretty with Katie Holmes and Emma Roberts at the launch for Narcisco Rodriguez’s new DesigNation line for Kohl’s.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz are not only rap partners, but also new BFFs. Us Weekly suggests that the two have become closer as Paltrow’s friendship with Madonna has cooled, and that Paltrow has made it her mission to find Diaz a man.

Conan should know better than to set Billy Eichner loose on the people of New York during election season, not to mention at a Madonna concert rehearsal](http://www.vulture.com/2012/10/billy-eichner-met-madonna.html), as well.

The folks over at Vanity Fair have roped Judd Apatow into guest editing the magazine’s upcoming January comedy issue.

No need to feel bad for Mark Zuckerberg anymore (assuming we ever did). Facebook’s stock went up 20% by midday yesterday, after its lackluster showing for the past almost half year.

Whoa! Take a look at ScarJo as a stunning brunette! The new look is for her upcoming film, “Under the Skin.”

We can look forward to seeing Adam Levine in one of two ways — either on Maroon Five’s upcoming North American tour (Perez Hilton has a contest for free tix), or in his racy on-screen scenes in “American Horror Story.”

And speaking of handsome young men we like to look at, here is sizzling Jake Gyllenhaal…well, technically it was the pasta he was cooking with Mario Batali that was sizzling, but there’s no denying Gyllenhaal looked pretty hot, too.

Speaking of his meeting James Franco on a plane a couple of years ago and more recently recording a song with him, Motown legend Smokey Robinson said, “James is my brother.” Robinson gave the quote at a cancer research fundraiser hosted by Denise Rich, at which Bar Refaeli was also spotted.

On the non-entertainment front, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has said that he will step down at the end of his next term, even if President Obama is re-elected. Also, high-profile attorney Gloria Allred is after sealed testimony that presidential candidate Mitt Romney gave in divorce proceedings of her client back in the 1990’s. And finally, you can try to win lunch for you and three of your closest friends with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg — that is, if you are inclined to dine with a political creature while supporting the Humane Society.

In this age of misinformation, our work is needed like never before. We report on the news that matters most to American Jews, driven by truth, not ideology.

At a time when newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall. That means for the first time in our 126-year history, Forward journalism is free to everyone, everywhere. With an ongoing war, rising antisemitism, and a flood of disinformation that may affect the upcoming election, we believe that free and open access to Jewish journalism is imperative.

Readers like you make it all possible. Right now, we’re in the middle of our Passover Pledge Drive and we still need 300 people to step up and make a gift to sustain our trustworthy, independent journalism.

Make a gift of any size and become a Forward member today. You’ll support our mission to tell the American Jewish story fully and fairly.
