The Week Ahead: March 6 – 12
Monday
NYC — Get up close and personal with the Y Cabaret and experience dance outside of the boundaries of traditional performance. Audiences will experience the weird, the sensual, the funny, the sexy, and the entertaining in dance cabaret; and what better way to do that than with a drink in hand?
7:30 p.m. $20 in advance; $22 at the door.
Tuesday
NYC — Join AJC for a night of networking with city dwellers and a visiting delegation of Israeli IDC Herzliya Argov Fellows.
7:00-9:00 p.m. Free; Cash Bar.
Thursday
NYC — Join ISRAMERICA and aerial performers from House of Yes for the largest young professional Purim party in New York. You’ll be transported into an enchanting world filled with fantasy, fiction and the unexpected: aerialists propelling from the ceiling, live music, Purim drink specials and more.
8:00 p.m. $25 early bird; $35 thereafter.
Chicago — Join JCC 20s & 30s at the Chicago Jewish Film Festival opening night for a screening of Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong. Ticket includes film screening, after party, drink ticket, appetizers & desserts.
San Francisco — Does a drag meghillah sound like more of your thing? Head over to Night at the Jewseum: Sparkle! Nosh, games, acrobatics, and specialty cocktails galore.
6:30 p.m. Free with Museum admission ($5 after 5pm); 21+.
Friday
NYC — Join OneTable for a very special Shabbat dinner at City Winery, Manhattan’s only working winery. Also happening: post-dinner wine cellar tours!
Saturday
Though parties are happening throughout the week, Purim officially begins at sunset tonight!
NYC — Every Jew About Town knows that Rabbi Bellino at Sixth Street Synagogue in the East Village throws the best parties. Their fourth annual Purim Party is sure not to disappoint. (We have it on good authority that there will be plenty of kegs, as always.)
Also in NYC — the 12th annual Official Purim Bash will feature celebrity DJs all night, cash prizes for the best costumes, and a midnight megillah reading. According to the event’s organizer, 7 marriages have already happened between folks who met at the event — don’t miss out on meeting your bashert!
LA — Find some neon and get ready to party at 80s prom night.
9:00 p.m. $20 before Thursday, $30 thereafter.
If that sounds too tame, LA folks can also check out Cirque De Purim — just be sure to dress to impress.
