WATCH: ‘Broad City’ Stars Cheer on Hillary Clinton — As Colonial Women

“Broad City” creators Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer applauded Hillary Clinton’s presidential nomination — while dressed up as women from 1776.

In a hilarious cameo on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Jacobson and Glazer wore bonnets and frilly dresses as they provided a colonial perspective on Clinton’s nomination.

“Hello future Americans, or British subjects if this does not work out,” Jacobson greeted Colbert as the audience burst into laughter.

But a small misunderstanding lead to a big disappointment, when the comic duo thought Colbert was speaking about a woman being nominated for president in the year 1816, not 2016.

When Colbert revealed that progress would not come as soon as they thought, Glazer asked, “Are you telling me it takes us 240 years to get a female president?”

“What the butter is wrong with you people?” Jacobson wondered.
