Jon Stewart Welcomes Caitlyn Jenner… To the World of Sexist Media

We’ve all been , formerly known as Bruce Jenner, taken by the amazing Annie Leibowitz. But despite the fact that many hailed it as an important milestone for media coverage on the trans community, Jon Stewart is here to bring us down to Earth.

“It’s heartening,” he said, “that not only is everyone willing to accept Caitlyn Jenner as a woman, but to waste no time in treating her like one.”

Cue the montage of people commenting solely on her appearance.

And just like any other woman, Stewart added, her body and looks must be compared to others. Including, of course, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian.

“Look, we want to give a woman a compliment here,” he joked. “We just need to make sure another woman gets taken down a peg in the process.”

To complete the transition, a sexist caveat: “she looks good for her age.” After all, says Jon, we have to remind her that, like all women, “she has an expiration date.”

And the cherry on the top? Some slut-shaming and a comment about photoshopping. Because you know she can’t look that good in person.
