William Shatner to Host First-Ever ‘Star Trek’ Cruise

Well, lets hope Dr. McCoy sits this Star Trek reunion out.
William Shatner, who played Captain James T. Kirk on the original “Star Trek,” will apparently host the first-ever licensed Star Trek cruise. On the official , he said that the cruise — to be held in two year’s time — should be, “a lot of fun.”
Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Robert Picardo from “Star Trek: Voyager,” James Darren from “Deep Space Nine,” Denise Crosby from “The Next Generation,” and John de Lancie from “The Next Generation,” “Voyager” and “Deep Space Nine” will all join Shatner.
Prices range from $975 a person to $7,500. You can look forward to themed nights — like Q’s Masquerade Ball and Risa’s Festival of the Moon Party — and “Star Trek” trivia contests. A “Star Trek” Scavenger Hunt will also take place on the private island Great Stirrup Cay, the fans own “private planet,” as described by the website.
The Norwegian Pearl (the substitute Enterprise for this voyage) will set sail January 9, 2017 from Miami, Florida, and will host 2,200 trekkies for 6 days.
Although a year late, the cruise is part of the upcoming 50th anniversary celebration of the first broadcast of Star Trek, in 1966.
