Jewish Stars and Droids Take Over ‘Star Wars’ Premiere
The Force was strong at last night’s star-studded premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Celebrities and fans alike shared the red carpet with a squadron of storm troopers, droids and at least one Yoda. Below are some of our favorite moments:
Looks like between director J.J. Abrams and the original intergalactic heartthrob, Han Solo, a.k.a. Harrison Ford.
Carrie Fisher, sans iconic hair buns, embraces costar John Boyega.
Just when you think you can’t love Joseph Gordon-Levitt more, here he comes down the carpet all green and absolutely adorable.
Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf from Disney’s “Frozen”, strikes a pose with some friendly storm troopers.
Congrats to #JJAbrams and the entire cast and crew on an incredible film. #ForceAwakens made me a giddy 10 year old all over again.

Steven Spielberg — who recommended Abrams for the job — was out to support everyone with his wife Kate Capshaw.
Some dear old friends also stopped by to share in the fun.
And while we’re at it, let’s give a shout out to another amazing little green guy:
I hope you appreciated this article. Before you go, I’d like to ask you to please support the Forward’s award-winning journalism this Passover.
In this age of misinformation, our work is needed like never before. We report on the news that matters most to American Jews, driven by truth, not ideology.
At a time when newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall. That means for the first time in our 126-year history, Forward journalism is free to everyone, everywhere. With an ongoing war, rising antisemitism, and a flood of disinformation that may affect the upcoming election, we believe that free and open access to Jewish journalism is imperative.
Readers like you make it all possible. Right now, we’re in the middle of our Passover Pledge Drive and we need 500 people to step up and make a gift to sustain our trustworthy, independent journalism.
Make a gift of any size and become a Forward member today. You’ll support our mission to tell the American Jewish story fully and fairly.
