New ‘Wonder Woman’ Teaser Proves Gal Gadot is the Superhero of the Future

The first Wonder Woman movie teaser is out, and it is fabulous. The short teaser, which premiered on Kevin Smith’s show on the CW, is full of action shots of Gal Gadot as the heroine, and offers a glimpse into the origins of Wonder Woman’s “civilian” persona, Diana Prince:

The movie, which is still in stages of filming, will premier sometime in 2017. This is the first footage released from Gal Gadot movie, her first starring role as Amazonian princess Diana of Themyscira and superhero Wonder Woman, who goes undercover as Diana Prince. Chris Pine co-stars as Wonder Woman’s collaborator, Steve Trevor.

“Telling a story like this now is pivotal and important,” Pine says in the trailer, “the story of a very powerful woman.”

The Israeli supermodel and actress (“Fast and Furious”) debut appearance as Wonder Woman on the silver screen in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which opens on March 25, 2016.

“The best thing about Wonder Woman is how good and kind and loving she is,” says Patty Jenkins, the movie’s director, “yet none of that negates any of her power.”
