Sarah Silverman Posts Touching Tribute on Anniversary of Mother’s Death

Sarah Silverman took to Twitter today to share a moving post on the anniversary of her mother’s death.

“A year ago today my mom left her human shell. So many times I went to call her this year, forgetting,” Silverman wrote.

A flood of Twitter users responded with condolences—and heartbreaking messages of their own.

Beth Ann O’Hara, Silverman’s mother, died at age 73. Silverman called her a “know-it-all in overalls & two different colored socks.” In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to Doctors Without Borders or the American Jewish World Service.

The comedian regularly posts heartbreaking photos of her mom on Instagram:

I accept that my mom is dead but I still think she gets my emails.
