Ivanka Trump Finally Addresses Her Father’s Lewd Tape

Ivanka Trump finally addressed her father’s explicit remarks on women last night—in a tidy 27 word message.
“My father’s comments were clearly inappropriate and offensive, and I’m glad that he acknowledged this fact with an immediate apology to my family and the American people,” she said in a statement to Fast Company.
This is actually a rare moment for Ivanka. In the past, the businesswoman has been quick to come to her father’s defense on the subject of his treatment of women, calling him a equal opportunist offender.
“Whether it’s a man or a woman, if you attack him he’ll attack you back,” she said during an interview with Dr. Oz. “In a certain way, it would be strange if he handled women and men differently.”
Back in May, she came to his defense once again when allegations came out about the “unwelcome advances” the Republican nominee had made on women over the years.
“He’s not a groper — it’s not who he is,” Ivanka responded.
Her comments this time around, though critical of her father, were necessary and unavoidable. The hard evidence was all there and, as the owner of a very popular women’s lifestyle brand, it would definitely behoove her to go down the well-trodden “locker room talk” route (hello Eric Trump, Donald Trump and Melania Trump).
So, while her response was a week and a half late and incredibly concise, I guess thanks for sparing us the whole “boys will be boys” thing.
