The Association of Jewish Family and Children's Agencies is the umbrella membership organization for over 145 agencies in North America, which provide a range of services to the hungry, elderly, disabled and others in need. Founded in 1972, AJFCA facilitates networking and promotes better communication among its member groups through conferences and online forums. It offers consultations and training for member agencies' staffs and advocates on legislative issues affecting Jewish social services.

Lee Sherman was appointed president and CEO of the Association of Jewish Family and Children's Agencies in 2009. Sherman previously worked as director of strategic development in the community services division of Associated Catholic Charities in Baltimore. He co-founded and served as president and COO of American Sports Classics, Inc., a sports memorabilia company. Sherman has served on boards of several Baltimore Jewish community groups and was president of the board of directors of Jewish Family Services of Central Maryland. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received a doctorate of law from the William & Mary Law School.
