Jewish Book Council Announces 2017 Sami Rohr Prize Finalists

The Jewish Book Council has announced the finalists for the 2017 Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature.
The finalists, known as the Sami Rohr Prize Fellows, are Paul Goldberg for “The Yid,” Idra Novey for “Ways to Disappear,” Daniel Torday for “The Last Flight of Poxl West,” Adam Ehrlich Sachs for “Inherited Disorders: Stories, Parables & Problems,” and Rebecca Schiff for “The Bed Moved: Stories.”
The Sami Rohr Prize, which recognizes “emerging writers who explore the Jewish experience,” is open to works of fiction and non-fiction alike. This year’s finalists are all fiction writers. The prize’s winner will be announced on May 3.
Recent winners of the prize include Lisa Moses Leff, Ayelet Tsabari, Matti Friedman and Francesca Segal.
