WATCH NOW: October 22: The 2020 Election: Disinformation and Democracy
Watch here.
Online hate and disinformation have long impacted Jewish communities and the health of democracy and civic life. Now, conspiracy theorists and other bad actors are using disinformation to play an outsized role in the 2020 Election and exploiting public anxiety to sow division and chaos and to shatter public trust in voting and the democratic process. As we near close in on the final days of the “Voting” period – what else can we expect to see on the disinformation front, what can be done to mitigate harm and public anxiety? What can be done by platforms or by Congress to reform our laws and systems to meet this challenge? Watch a panel of experts for an important conversation around key narratives playing out this election cycle, how are the social media platforms trying to shift their platforms in the final days to compensate, how to push back on disinformation, and how we as individuals can ensure that all votes are counted this cycle.
