WATCH: The Orthodox Are Wearing Popcorn Hats In Israel

An Orthodox streimel hat made of popcorn seems to have popped up (apologies) as one of the most popular (sorry) costumes in Haredi Israel this Purim.
A day after Israeli journalist Sam Sokol published a photo of an Orthodox man in a study hall wearing the classic wheel shaped hat but filled with popcorn, he spotted one in the wild.
Sokol, a reporter with the Israel Broadcasting Authority, shot this video at a yeshiva in the ultra-Orthodox Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea Shearim.
Though Purim ended yesterday for most of Israel, in Jerusalem it is celebrated an extra day according to Jewish tradition. So for those in the Holy City, there’s still time to spot — or wear — a popcorn streimel.
