WATCH: Gary Cohn Talks Up Obamacare Repeal

Gary Cohn, Donald Trump’s economic adviser and ex-chief operating officer at Goldman Sachs, bragged on Monday that the administration had the votes to repeal Obamacare.

“This is going to be a great week,” Cohn told CBS’ “This Morning.” “We’re going to get healthcare down to the floor of the House. We’re convinced we got the votes and we’re going to keep moving on with our agenda.”

Cohn, a champion of tax cuts for corporations and the loosening of financial sector regulations, has emerged as a leading voice within the White House, aligned with the moderate wing that’s said to include first son-in-law Jared Kushner.

An earlier push to repeal Obamacare collapsed in March, after the House’s moderates and hard-right conservatives fought over what a replacement would like.

A tentative compromise has been reached on some of the issues that mucked up repeal last time, but it remains unclear that Republican leaders now have the votes, with some moderates still balking at emerging legislation.
