Ivanka Launches Listening Tour Of Government To Learn About Women’s Issues

Ivanka Trump will be meeting with various administration officials and cabinet heads as part of the first daughter’s push to become an advocate within the White House on women’s issues.
The listening tour will begin with Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt, and then move to other higher-ups, including Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta and Small Business Administration head Linda McMahon.
Trump, now a White House special assistant, has assumed an outsized role within the administration, and is reportedly said to have decided to make women and her families her informal portfolio. She spoke about the importance of paid family leave and gender wage parity during the campaign.
The idea of women’s empowerment is also tied in with her lifestyle brand “Women Who Work,” which hawks ladies’ styles and accessories. A self-help memoir by the same name was released last week.
