Eric Schneiderman Threatens Legal Battle Against Obamacare Repeal

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has threatened to sue the federal government if the House-passed repeal of Obamacare becomes law.
The Empire State’s top prosecutor said the law would prohibit states from using their own health care monies to reimburse Planned Parenthood for services rendered, a provision that he said would be unconstitutional.
“In a tricky way, [it] tries to wipe out Planned Parenthood,” he said over the weekend on CNN. “It’s an effort to kill off Planned Parenthood, which would impose an undue burden on women’s Constitutionally-protected rights.”
The bill has a long way to becoming law – it must first pass the Senate, where Republicans are likely to fundamentally change it, and the two chambers must then reach a deal on legislation that’s acceptable to both.
“I hope it’ll never become law, I hope we’ll be able to save a lot of time and trouble and not have to bring this litigation,” Schneiderman said.
