Will Patty Jenkins Drive A Hard Bargain To Direct ‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel?

‘Wonder Woman’ director Patty Jenkins is having a very good week.

Her first major big-budget studio film had a $103.2 million domestic opening, impressive by any means but especially exciting for Jenkins, who has officially broken the opening weekend cash-money record for female directors.

Gal Gadot’s contract has her locked in for a sequel but because it was Jenkins first big-budget feature, Warner Bros. followed standard practice of booking the director for only one film. Now, the ball is in her court as Warner Bros. prepares to begin negotiations for a sequel.

What will Patty Jenkins ask for? Unlimited sushi from craft services? A pony to carry her to and from set? Millions and millions and millions of dollars?

Hopefully, all three and then some. Jenkins smashed a hard-won glass ceiling and she deserves somebody’s first-born child.
