Sessions And Wyden Scrap Loudly Over ‘Stonewalling’ In Angry Exchange

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee became contentious today when Senator Ron Wyden accused the AG of “stonewalling.”

Sessions, in his response to Wyden’s reference to claims made by former FBI director James Comey in his testimony last week, appeared angry when Wyden implied that he’d dodged questions.

“You don’t walk in to any hearing or committee meeting and reveal confidential communications with the President of the United States, who’s entitled to receive confidential communications,” Sessions said.

When Wyden pressed Sessions on Comey’s claims about “matters, with respect to [AG Session’s recusal from the Russia investigation], that were problematic,” Sessions forcefully replied: “There are none, Senator Wyden. There are none. I can tell you that for absolute certainty.”
