Jared Kushner Breaks Long Public Silence — With Snoozy Speech About Data

Jared Kushner spoke at a press conference kicking off the White House’s “Technology Week,” breaking a public silence that has stretched for years.
Since the start of President Donald Trump’s campaign two years ago, Kushner has taken a leading role in shaping his father-in-law’s policy, according to many sources within the administration. The White House announced on Monday that Kushner would be visiting the Middle East this week at Trump’s behest.
But throughout it all, Kushner himself has been conspicuosly silent, even if his policies have not.
Though videos of Kushner speaking exist—he spoke very briefly during Ivanka Trump’s recent interview with Gayle King—he’s shied away from the public since the beginning of the campaign. Back in December, he gave an interview to Forbes , but still, the public has yearned to actually hear the major White House advisor speak.
Speaking to a press pool, Kushner, in his first major media interaction in years, discussed … modernizing federal data processing technology to increase efficiency.
