Los Angeles Rabbi Encourages 59 Good Deeds (Mitzvot) For The 59 Las Vegas Victims

Rabbi Shlomo Einhorn, rabbi and dean of the Yavneh Hebrew Academy of Los Angeles, called for a campaign that “challenges each of its community members to fill the next 59 days with 59 good deeds”.
In a letter to school parents and members, Rabbi Shlomo Einhorn wrote:
As we approach Sukkot and in the wake of the Las Vegas Massacre, I’m sure many of you are wondering how we can bring some meaning to loss especially when trying to explain the situation to our children. Perhaps we can join together in creating an explosion of chesed (kindness). In honor of the 59 innocents taken from this world we created an initiative called ‘59 for 59’. The concept is to challenge ourselves and our family members to 59 days of good deeds and thoughtful acts on behalf of others.
The campaign even includes a chart for children to write down their good deeds day by day.
