Steve Bannon: I’ve Got A New ‘High Holy’ Day And It’s All About #MAGA

Republicans across the country celebrated on November 8, marking the one-year anniversary of the 2016 elections that brought Donald Trump to power. But did they know some see the it as an actual holiday?
“We celebrated today in the Trump movement as MAGA Day,” said Steve Bannon, Trump’s former top strategist who is now back at Breitbart News, in an interview with The New York Times. “Right? A high holy day…. And we’ll celebrate it like Bastille Day going forward.”
MAGA is the often used acronym for Trump’s campaign slogan Make America Great Again. Jews refer to the most sacred days of their calendar — Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur — as High Holy days.
In the interview, Bannon called the white supremacists and nationalists backing Trump “marginalia to marginalia” who will “grab on to anything.” He accused the media of encouraging extremists who know that tying themselves to Trump will get them attention. “It’s irrelevant nonsense,” he said. According to Bannon, Trump himself “is the least racist guy I’ve ever met.”
