Matt Lauer, Iconic NBC Anchor, Fired For ‘Inappropriate Sexual Behavior In The Workplace’

Matt Lauer, the world-famous host of NBC’s “Today” show, was fired for “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace,” the New York Times reported.
The firing was announced live on the air Wednesday morning, and in a memo to staff sent
“On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer,” Andrew Lack, the NBC News president, wrote in the memo.
Lack wrote that “after serious review,” the accusation “represented… a clear violation of our company’s standards. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.”
Shortly after the memo was sent out, Savannah Guthrie, Lauer’s co-host on the “Today” show, tearfully announced his firing on the air.
“All we can say is we are heartbroken; I’m heartbroken,” Guthrie said.
