New Rabbi Hired To Tour American South, Provide Jewish Services In Small Towns

The Institute of Southern Jewish Life announced Tuesday that Aaron Rozovsky will be the organization’s next director of rabbinical services, traveling through the American South to serve as rabbi in small Jewish communities.
“His passion for serving under-served Jewish communities, his past experience and his vision for this role all make him an ideal rabbi to serve our region,” said Michele Schipper, the group’s CEO.
ISJL provides services to scattered small Jewish communities across the South. Its director of rabbinical services leads Jewish services and teaches Bar and Bat Mitzvah students across the region.
“This is my dream job,” Rozovsky said in a statment. “To serve small Jewish communities throughout the South who have added so much to the American fabric and our understanding of what it means to be Jewish is the opportunity of a lifetime.”
Rozovsky will graduate from the Reform Jewish seminary, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, in the spring.
