Purim Project Tells Women Of Color’s Stories, In Esther’s Honor

Inspired by the upcoming Jewish holiday of Purim, the new campaign #ShareHerStory shares the stories of modern Jewish women of color who are working to create a more inclusive and thriving Jewish community in various ways.

As the name sounds, #ShareHerStory shares individual stories of powerful Jewish leaders in short, easy-to-read vignettes as a way to honor and promote the critical stories of women who have been overlooked despite having been leaders and change-makers in the Jewish community.

“Purim is a holiday that teaches us about the power of women’s stories to make change,” Judith Rosenbaum of the Jewish Women’s Archive told eJewish Philanthropy. “This Purim, we will celebrate the holiday by sharing the compelling and inspiring stories of Jewish Women of Color, Mizrahi, and Sephardi women who have made- and are making- their mark on history.”

Jewish Women’s Archive, along with Jewish Multiracial Network and Repair the World are the campaign’s organizers.

You can read the stories at weRepair.org/Purim.
