Kudlow ‘Frontrunner’ For Trump Economic Advisor Gig: CNBC

CNBC personality Larry Kudlow is the “frontrunner” to replace Gary Cohn as the chief of President Trump’s National Economic Council, CNBC reported Monday.
Cohn quit the White House last week after Trump refused to heed his advice against imposing a steel tariff. Kudlow, who currently hosts the CNBC program “The Kudlow Report,” is a veteran of the Reagan administration. Jim Cramer, the CNBC personality who broke the story, used to host a show with Kudlow.
Kudlow has praised the steel tariff. “It’s a Trumpian way of negotiating,” he said on John Catsimatidis’ radio program, according to a report in the New York Post. “You knock them in the teeth and get their attention. And then you kind of work out a deal and I think that’s what he’s done. My hats off to him. He had me really worried. Now I’m not.”
Kudlow is a longtime conservative television personality. He worked in the Office of Management and Budget during the Reagan administration, and has been rumored as a potential political candidate at various times in recent years.
