New Jersey Might Never See Jared Kushner’s Twin Towers

Plans for twin-tower-style 66-story residential buildings in Jersey City, created by Jared Kushner when he was CEO of the Kushner Companies, are in danger of falling apart, Yeshiva World reported.
The family real estate company threatened legal action against the New Jersey city, for allegedly ending negotiations without reason — or for the suspected reason of political bias because Kushner is now an adviser to President Trump, his father-in-law.
“It is crystal clear that Fulop is now playing politics,” Kushner Companies said in a statement to The Associated Press, referencing Jersey City’s Democratic Mayor Steven Fulop.
The city assured that politics were not involved in the One Journal Square project setback — but rather it was due to Kushner Companies allegedly defaulting on a payment it owed to the municipal government last year.
“It should be obvious to everyone that the Kushner’s claim that the mayor needed to ‘play politics’ to win votes has no merit,” city spokeswoman Hannah Peterson told the AP. “This is a false argument that is being used to explain why things didn’t go their way.”
Kushner stepped down as CEO of the Kushner Companies last year when he became President Trump’s senior adviser.
