Aaron Schlossberg Condemned By Fellow Lawyers — Slammed By 25,000 On Petition
Although he is now been booted out of his office space, Aaron Schlossberg made it to court — to the condemnation of colleagues. There is also a petition calling for his disbarment circulating.
The Manhattan lawyer caught yelling racist comments at Spanish-speaking restaurant workers in a viral video was treated harshly by fellow attorneys at a Queens court Thursday, lawyers there told The New York Post.
Schlossberg was there representing Queens medical center Aimes Enterprises Inc. — a day after footage emerged of him berating Spanish-speaking workers at a Manhattan deli.
Aimes Enterprises chief Tom Major later told The Post he was totally unaware of Schlossberg’s viral rant — and had never heard the attorney say anything racist.
“This is the first time I’m aware of something like this,” he said.
Schlossberg has at least four other cases pending in the state civil court system, records show — three of them for film producer and real estate investor Todd Courtney.
A Change.org petition calling for Schlossberg’s disbarment is close to reaching its 25,000-signature goal.
It reads: “Aaron Schlossberg can be observed in a video harassing customers and employees at a restaurant in Manhattan over speaking Spanish, he then proceeded to yell at people (assuming their legal status in the United States) that he would be contacting ICE. Someone in position of power as an attorney, Mr. Schlossberg has demonstrated his inability to grasp the severity of his unethical behavior.”
The New York State Bar Association responded, noting that Schlossberg is not a member of the association, which is voluntary. Membership is not required to practice in New York.
