Harvey Weinstein Set To Surrender On Sex Crimes Charges In New York

Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood producer whose alleged sexual transgressions spurred the #MeToo movement, is reportedly expected to surrender to New York City police to face sex crimes charges.
The New York Daily News reported the news along with The New York Times.
The fallen movie exec is facing charges related to the claim by Lucia Evans that Weinstein forced her into performing oral sex on him in 2004, sources told the paper.
Weinstein has been accused by several women of either pressuring or forcing them into sex acts or acting in sexually inappropriate ways.
Benjamin Brafman, a lawyer for Weinstein, declined to comment on Thursday’s report.
More than 70 women have accused the co-founder of the Miramax studio and The Weinstein Co with sexual misconduct including rape, allegations that gave rise to the #MeToo movement in which hundreds of women have publicly accused powerful men in business, government and entertainment.
Weinstein has denied having non-consensual sex with anyone.
