Julia Louis-Dreyfus Blasts Melania Trump Over Family Separation
Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus had some scathing remarks for First Lady Melania Trump on Twitter, referencing President Trump’s family separation policy.
After a visit with the king and queen of Spain, Melania tweeted a photo of her, Trump, and the monarchs, captioning it, “A great visit with the King & Queen of Spain at the @WhiteHouse today. Queen Letizia & I enjoyed tea & time together focusing on the ways we can positively impact children.”
In response to this Melania query, which comes in the wake of immense controversy and uproar over immigrant children separated from their families at the border, Louis-Dreyfus chimed in:
Yeah, give that a good, hard think. What could you do……? https://t.co/u5LItLvkFA

Louis-Dreyfus joins the ranks of prominent Jewish celebrities calling out the policy. However, she’s no stranger to speaking out against Trump immigration rules; she called Trump’s previous immigrant travel ban “un-American.”
“I want you all to know, I am the daughter of an immigrant,” she said in a Screen Actors Guild award acceptance speech. “My father fled religious persecution in Nazi-occupied France. I’m an American patriot and I love this country, and because I love this country I am horrified by its blemishes.”
Melania has previously said that she “hates” seeing families separated, and that she hopes “both sides of the aisle” could come together for immigration reform. However, her statement did not mention her husband or his policies directly.
