Michael Cohen Cites Separation Policy In Resigning From RNC — Also Legal Woes

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal attorney, used his resignation letter from the Republican National Committee’s Finance Committee to speak out against his former boss’ family separation policy, sources close to the RNC told ABC News.
“As the son of a Polish holocaust survivor, the images and sounds of this family separation policy is heart wrenching,” Cohen wrote. “While I strongly support measures that will secure our porous borders, children should never be used as bargaining chips.”
To be sure, Cohen’s move was at least as pragmatic as principled. Cohen also said he couldn’t continue in the role because of other obligations, namely his participation in the ongoing special counsel investigation, he wrote in his resignation letter to Ronna McDaniel, the RNC chair.
“This important role requires the full time attention and dedication of each member. Given the ongoing Mueller and SDNY investigations, that simply is impossible for me to do,” he wrote.
