Protester Calls Stephen Miller ‘Fascist’ At Mexican Restaurant
A protester yelled “fascist” at Stephen Miller while he was dining in a DC Mexican restaurant, the New York Post reports.
Miller was out to dinner on Sunday at Espita Mezcaleria when the protester spoke out. Miller was instrumental in the implementation of the zero-tolerance border policy, and has remained an outspoken proponent of the policy.
The New York Post reports another customer built off the cries of “fascist,” chiming in with, “Hey look guys, whoever thought we’d be in a restaurant with a real-life fascist begging [for] money for new cages?”
Miller is not the only Trump official to face public scorn at a Mexican restaurant. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen left DXDC Cocina Mexicana on Tuesday after protesters swamped the restaurant. Metro D.C. Democratic Socialists shouted “Shame!” and played audio of children crying at a Texas detention center.
President Trump signed an executive order on Thursday that would end family separation by detaining families and children together, albeit indefinitely.
““It was a simple decision by the administration to have a zero tolerance policy for illegal entry, period,” Miller told the New York Times. “The message is that no one is exempt from immigration law.”
