White Man Calls Cops On Black Neighbor For Using Neighborhood Pool

A North Carolina man named Adam Bloom is being accused of racial profiling after being caught on video calling police on a black woman at his neighborhood pool.
In a July 4 video that went viral, Bloom appears to demand identification from Jasmine Edwards as she attempted to enter her neighborhood pool.
“I feel like this is racial profiling,” Edwards says on the video. “I am the only black person here with my son in the pool.”
The video has been viewed more than 3 million times. Bloom was mocked as “#IDadam” on social media.
According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Bloom and Edwards live in the same neighborhood, residents of which have access to the pool.
In the video, Edwards hands a key card to the police officers, which they use to open the gate. “I don’t mind showing it to you, but it’s not a requirement for me to use the pool like he was requesting,” Edwards tells the police.
Bloom has been fired from his job since the incident went viral, according to the Journal. An attorney for Bloom told the Journal that Bloom is pool chairman of the neighborhood’s homeowner association, and that he confronted Edwards because someone else asked him to.
“Do you want to apologize, Adam, for what you did?” Edwards asks at the end of the recording, after she has entered the pool area. Bloom declines to do so.
